Multi Race
"The Bounty" (Vampire or Human)
A bounty hunter has been hunting a shapeshifter for some time with the help of his partner, a clever young woman who frequently helps in the capture of his bounties. They have worked together for years, and he's grown quite fond of having her, more than he's yet been willing to admit. He's never been able to locate the shapeshifter who assassinated a prince, but while looking, they've earned decent funds and a great reputation bringing in many other bounties. They are a long way from the kingdom the bounty originated in, and while traveling through unexplored territory, he notices they are being followed. Despite that he normally respects her modesty when she slips away to get cleaned up, but he wants to warn her about potential attack. When he finds her, he sees something rather surprising. As she slipping into the water, she changes form. She's a shapeshifter, and with how rare that power is, its very, very likely she is the same one he's hunting. Her description is similar enough. Startled, he steps back, breaking a branch beneath his foot. She turns and sees him, then takes off running. He always has tools on him, and follows, capturing her quickly. But, she was the one who knew the way through and out of this area. So while trying to find his way out of these lands, he continually debates if he really wants to turn her in to what would surely be her death- Shapeshifters are considered to be a type of demon, and are guilty without trial. He had grown fond of her, and actually wonders if he loves her, but other bounty hunters will come after her as well. He isn't entirely sure if he went after her because he wanted to stop her from leaving because he likes her, or because she is the bounty. The plot is based more on the emotional and mental problems rather than physical fighting, although with the job they do, there is always potential for people to come after them. It would start just before the discovery of what and who she is.
"Heroes and Villians" (Any type of being; based vaguely on Catwoman/Batman)
Intro post/ description of plot
Robberies are committed by criminals, right? And yet, sometimes a crime is not always what it seems. Every few days, places were burned down, and the most valuable and beautiful items were always missing. Whoever was burning these places was stealing the more valuable things, right?
No. Wrong. Things are not always what they seem.
Late into the night, the alarms on the art museum were disabled, and someone slipped inside, gathering up various valuable works of art. She hadn't bothered with the cameras, the one thing she never cared about. All they could get was that the theif was a woman, her outfit was black and was clearly made to look feline, having feline ears, claws on the black gloves, and even her movements had the same sort of grace and stealth a feline had. She carried a whip, which trailed behind her like a tail, no doubt a useful tool in her trade.
What wasn't known was that the feline cat burglar, Kitten, was not the one starting the fires. In truth, this young woman had premonitions, foresaw the fires that another was causing, and came ahead of them to 'rescue' the things that would otherwise be destroyed. She never returned them, instead keeping them in an old warehouse she owned. She wasn't necessarily a bad person, she didn't sell her stolen things for money, nor did she steal money. She merely collected items that would have been destroyed. Of course, her biggest problem was avoiding a costumed vigilante that was trying to stop her now. He didn't know the reason behind her thefts, nor did he know that she wasn't starting the destructive fires, he just knows what was on the tapes, what is seen.
Kitten hurried to clear out as many things as possible, although she was a bit particular in what she stole. She knew the real from the replicas, she had preferences among the real ones as well. She kept focused, knowing exactly how long she had before the pyro vandalizer would arrive.
Vampire Plots
"Finders Keepers"
The scent had been picked up around town here and there, but none had located the source. All the vampires knew that somewhere in down was an immortal, and from the sweet scent it was female. Any vampire would know it was a rare find, far better than the normal humans they fed on. All of them hoped to find the immortal, many had prepared in case they did, figuring out how they would contain that wonderous meal for future feeding.
He hadn't been overly concerned with preparations, he figured someone else would find the female long before himself. He wasn't even actively looking, tracking. Why bother? The chances were slim. He went to the park like usual, looking for an easy meal. He didn't often kill, killing was a waste, and hiding corpses was a pain. It was a simple mind trick to make the humans forget what happened. Occasionally he slipped up, took too much, left them unconscious or dead, but it wasn't frequent. Tonight's hunt would have surprising results, incredible luck.
Without a job, her funds had run low fast. She needed to return to the meeting place of the other immortals, get some of the gems they kept there for use as currency for those who mingled in the world of humans. But it would have to wait, she was tired. For now, she would find a place to sleep. She made her way into the park, glad it was a clear night that was only slightly chilly. She could sleep on a bench for the night, head out in the morning. She found a bench near the center of the park, that was a little way out from the path, so she wouldn't be disturbed. She lay down, and dozed off fast.
That scent... it was stronger than normal. Much stronger. Was she actually here? In his hunting territory? Few vampires stalked the park, most preferred the streets, clubs, and alleys. Perhaps someone had already caught her, and was just passing through. May as well investigate, no harm in that. He followed the scent, and as he grew near, he was sure there was no scent from a fellow vampire. How could it be that he had such luck? He soon reached the picnic area, and saw the young woman sleeping. Amazing, he had found the immortal, asleep and defenseless. She was lovely... or was it the scent influencing the way his eyes saw her? No matter... he craved a taste. Just a taste. He wasn't prepared to take her, so just a taste and walk away.
He knelt over her, studying her form, then brushing aside her long hair to get a glimpse of her neck. A simple bit of influence with his mind would maintain her sleep. Normally he would use this power ot make feeding pleasant for the human, but since the immortal was already asleep, it would be easier to maintain the sleep. He bit in slow, and began to drink the warm eliquor that came from the wound. Incredible. He had no clue it would be like this. He closed his eyes, drinking slowly, savoring the amazing taste.
He stopped, realizing he had been drinking longer than intended. He stepped back and looked down at her. She wouldn't wake for some time... and there was no telling what another vampire might do to her if they came across her in this severely weakened state. He felt a slight tinge of guilt. He had left her extremely vulnerable, and many of his kindred were not as kind as he was. Some would do awful things... and now she could not defend herself against them.
He debated for several moments, then scooped her up gently in his arms. He turned and headed home, carrying the unconscious immortal with him. Passing down the streets, other vampires picked up the scent. They approached, and congratulated him on his fortune. Some glared, seemed ready to attack to steal her away... but with the presence of a few others... and considering the boost in strength he would have from feeding on an immortal... they wouldn't stand a chance.
It was a bit complicated opening the door while holding her, but he managed well enough. He carried her in and lay her on his bed. The others knew he had her now... some of them might watch the place in hopes she would escape. It wouldn't be safe to let her leave... and he didn't want to. That taste was incredible... he had to have it again. He closed his bedroom door, blocked it off so she couldn't get out, and went to sleep on the couch. Tommorrow night would surely be interesting.
"Protection"
People are hunting down vampires and mages, and mages and vampires often fight each other as well. One pack of vampires is living near a city, all of them able to take wolf form, so they can disguise themselves to hunt down humans in the outside of the city. One house at the outskirts of the city is home to a family of mages. The leader of the vampires has been watching the daughter, a beautiful young woman who has unique abilities for a mage. Rather than the dangerous powers her family has that can harm others, her powers caused her to stop aging, and she heals from injuries quickly. She can manipulate illusions and force fields, but the humans would kill her anyway. There is too much risk of her developing powers like her parents.
Watching her, the vampire realizes that these powers could be useful in keeping their lair hidden. He watches her daily, using wolf form to watch her. She sees him, and seems to be fond of canines, often attempting to lure him out. He allows this, and lets her pet him and such, waiting for the right moment to take her to his home. Of the eight vampires there, several will keep humans prisoner, long term supply of food. Knowing her powers, he intends to keep her comfortable so she will use them to his benefit, even if the others are not so kind to their humans. Finally, the opportunity comes. Humans attack the home and the girl uses her powers to create an illusion that hides her from view. With canine eyes, he can see through the illusion, and follows her when she starts to run. He cuts off her path when she is clearly nearing exhaustion, now finally in his true form. With her exhaustion at this point, her lack of a home, he knows she will have little option, and be more likely to allow him to feed. He tells her he wants her to come with him and use her powers to hide his lair, and to be his frequent meal. He would keep her safe from both humans and other vampires. Now that she is alone, exhausted and frightened, she accepts. Now he must keep his word to keep her safe from the other vampires there, who are clearly interested in the potent blood of a pure born mage.
"The thief"
A kitsune has been captured by the owner of a club, who is using her blood as an additive in expensive drinks. Vampires are willing to pay the high price for a taste of the rare creature, and for a significantly higher price, one can feed from the captive creature them self. Deciding to see the creature, the vampire decides he would like to keep it for himself, rather than having to pay. He steals the kitsune, taking her to his own house. He is fortunate- the kitsune is young, under two hundred, so not as dangerous as the elder nine-tailed. However, even a young kitsune can be difficult to keep, as they are intelligent, and will slip away at any chance unless tamed. There is a risk of fire, as kitsunes are pyrokinetic, but since she is young, its not too powerful.
Another problem is the owner of the club and his workers attempting to relocate the kitsune and reobtain her, so there could be frequent fights, and he may even have to move a good distance away to keep his prize.
"The gift"
Having defeated his cruel sire, a vampire now rules over a large territory. Glad to have a new person in charge, the locals throw a party, and bring a gift, a sort of offering as a show of loyalty. The gift comes in a large box, about six foot in all directions. Rather than wrap it, which would have been damn near impossible, they put a large silk sheet over it. The scent of powerful blood can be detected, and when the sheet is pulled off, a girl is visible laying at the bottom. She is badly injured, a shapeshifter. They had hoped the injuries would prevent shapeshifting, but they couldn't be certain. So they used the cage to make sure she wouldn't go anywhere, putting shackles with long chains on her wrists and ankles.
Although he isn't cruel by nature, he also doesn't want to take the risk of appearing weak to those gathered. If he was not seen as a strong, powerful leader, they may try to do to him what he did to his sire. So when he goes in the cage to examine the woman, he behaves somewhat cruel and roughly. Later, once all are gone, he starts to tend to her wounds, as the servants that work for him are afraid to approach something like that. Of course, after prior treatment, the girl is far from trusting or friendly. Letting her go to lead to recapture, and again, someone challenging him, so he'll have to keep her, and with so long an existence, the small challenge of trying to tame and befriend her would be an interesting break in the monotony of eternity.
Dragon Plots
"A Pet for a Lonely Heart"
An intelligent mind often requires company. But dragons have a territorial instinct. It isn't often they enjoy each others company, because they have difficulty coping with others on their territory, and there is very little territory not claimed by a dragon. The only shared territory is between mates, even hatchlings do not remain in a parent's territory, or they take their own portion, and never cross into what is not theirs.
For those without mates, it is a lonely life, and many wish for companionship, but cannot bear to have another dragon hunt their territory. Some have taken to having pets, humans as pets. But many of the human pets do not survive long. The human may try to kill the dragon or escape to tell the location of the lair to slayers. Those humans are often eaten.
Some human pets are made to do some forms of work for the dragon, because they are not as good of companions as hoped for with their fear preventing them from having any desire to be a true companion. So the dragon has them do work. They clean up some of the bloody mess left after eating, on the floor and the dragon's scales. Some are made to help when something gets caught in the dragon's teeth, other times had to polish treasures.
Dragons don't necessarily mean to be cruel to their 'pets', but they often have trouble knowing just how to deal with the frail humans.
Some try to show affection in the same means thatthey would to a mate or child, giving gentle lick or nuzzle. Unfortunately it rarely has the intended effect of showing affection, instead frightening them.
He knows of the troubles of having a human as a pet, and yet he intends to try. He does not realize how the shows of affection frighten the poor pets, but he does know that they are frightened and try to escape more often than not. Even so, he is lonely, and decided to try. But he is smart, and decides the best way to make sure his pet will not flee is to take a human whom is condemmed to death for something he does not consider a crime.
Using magic, he disguises himself as a human to walk the streets some, and listens to what he can, to learn of the situation of various condemmed. He hears of a young woman to be hung for interference with a dragon slayer, a woman who used magic to stop a slayer form pursuing a dragon, even though that particular dragon had feasted on human flesh many times. He himself had eaten human on occasion, it is tasty, and they are plentiful, but he only kills tresspassers in his territory, ones who venture too close to his home. He has made his territory clear to humans, the border they may not pass is marked with charred areas from his flame. If they are in his hunting territory, they are prey. Most have been soldiers and slayers, and when children venture accidentally, he does no more than frighten them off.
He decides this woman would make an ideal pet, and he learns of the date of her hanging. He uses some gold to purchase a few things to help with his keeping his new pet, bedding and clothing, a few basic items for her care, such pitchers for water, containers for food. A bit of work to make certain she would be unable to go far past his cave entrance, a rock barrier a short ways out so she can go outside, but not flee. An apple tree is within the blocked area, so she would have fresh fruit to eat. After all, she must be kept healthy.
The day of her execution arrives, and she is taken to the down center, bound tightly with the noose over her neck. He flies over and people notice him and scatter, but the woman is unable to flee. He dives down and lands in the down, not wanting to injure her with his strong, sharp talons, he uses his tongue to pull her into his mouth and bites through the rope leading to her neck. He returns home, pleased to have a pet of his own now.
"Reluctant Rider"
A dragon is tracking his rider, but has difficulties. The girl is quite obviously terrified of the dragon, and he is unable to communicate- her fear seems to cause a block in telepathic communication. It is well known dragons like the taste of humans, but the fear seems to go beyond that for this girl. She has some power, and it has so far helped in her in evading him. He knows he must be careful, if he were to harm her with his talons on accident, he too would feel the pain. But also, he cannot just leave her be. There is a war between humans and dragons- and any time a rider is discovered they are killed immediately to eliminate the dragon, so getting her to some form of safety is a necessity, especially now that small groups of troops are searching for riders.
The dragon seeks to help his kin in the war against humans, but he also must protect his rider and try to establish communication. Having a rider with him would increase his powers, and give him a better advantage in the fighting. Rumors have started to spread among dragon kind that a way to kill riders without killing the dragon has been found, and some dragons have turned on their riders so they do not have the vulnerability of a human rider. This dragon has decided against seeking that knowledge, as he prefers the boost in power and the companionship a rider would provide.
Some of the conflicts in this rp would be the frightened rider's attempts to flee, the soldiers seeking to kill dragons and riders, and arguments with dragons who think he should kill his rider. A possible power boost effect could be the ability to take human form, as well as any ideas for such you may come up with.
"The Disguise"
A dragon able to change form to human slips into a castle, the home of the leader of a kingdom. Recently, the kings soldiers killed his mate, and when he returned home to the blood stained cave, he found their eggs were gone. The evidence suggested one egg was not destroyed, likely so that the humans could keep the young dragon for experiments on how to kill dragons. Not wanting his hatchling to live in so horrible an environment, he uses his human form to slip in and learn more, his plan being to steal back the eggs and eat anyone involved with his wife's and most of his children's death, as well as the theft of one egg. He discovers that the king's daughter, who has a inborn talent for elemental magic, was given the duty of keeping them warm and having food ready for when they hatch. He tells her he's someone who is studying dragons so he can get close and see their location, and learns that she feels bad about the death of the femal dragon, and what would happen to the hatchling. After about a week, he lures her outside as well as some of the soldiers who were involved with the original attack. He quickly returns to his natural form, snatching up the soldiers as a quick and rather tasty meal. With her cornered now, he is slightly hesitant to kill her. He had seen with his own eyes how she was against it.
His inner debate doesn't help the situation and soon the king and his soldiers are rushing out armed to the teeth. The dragon uses hit tail to knock the roof off the building holding the egg, and turns to face them. He warns them that should they attempt to harm him or his young ever again, he would have the princess as a snack. He realizes this situation is perfect, he can keep the humans from bothering him, and it settles his debate about the princess. The king has his men stand down to prevent harm from coming to his daughter, and tells the dragon they will leave supplies for her comfort at the edge of the city. They will make no attempts to hunt dragons so long as he receives letters from his daughter as proof of her safety. He uses his talons to gently pick up the only remaining egg, then looks to the princess. Not only will he have a hostage to keep his family safe now, but the girl could be useful and from his time with her he discovered she was pleasant to talk to. Without another thought, he snaps her up into his mouth, turning to the king with his mouth slightly open, to show the terrified princess to her father. The purpose of this method was more to scare the king, to give a visual of the threatening situation his daughter was now in. A visual always helps to enforce a threat, especially one like this. After a moment of this display to the king, he closed his mouth and took off, flying home with the captive princess and the egg.
He lands at his home, and places the egg in a safe place, immediately after opening his mouth and tilting his head slightly so that the frightened, and now wet, princess fell out to the ground. Word of this spreads quickly and other dragons come to see how the violence has been stopped. The dragons commend him on his brilliance, enjoying spooking the princess. To help keep the dragons from attacking, the king not only leaves supplies for his daughter, but criminals are left out to let the dragon enjoy the tasty snack of humans that he seems to greatly enjoy. This makes for an uneasy peace between the dragon and the humans.
"Dragon Mage"
Ages ago, dragon hunters had reached an incredible success rate. Realizing the risk of extinction, the dragons sought the help of a group of mages. The dragons tracked down the mages, and enacted a plan developed by the council of elders. The dragons became humans, knowing someday when the dragon hunters were gone they could return to their natural forms and keep ontop of the danger factor with more success. As a precaution to be able to protect the village, the council of elders were made to keep most of their powers. The dragons lived in their village peacefully for a few decades, but the dragon hunters found them, and worse, they found the mages. They began killing off the dragons, and the mages.
The council got together again, and discussed the matter. They had learned that only one of the mages remained alive, a young woman, and she had gone into hiding. They had to return to normal form as soon as possible. The plan had failed, there was no reason to keep in these human forms, but most importantly, if they lost the final mage, they would be trapped. They decided to send the youngest member of the council, the one who lead warriors into battle, to find the mage. He was told how to track her, and he was told his duty was find her and bring her to the village. His duty was to protect her, even after she completed her duty of returning the dragons to natural form. He left to find the mage, travelling as quick as possible.
When he arrives, dragon hunters had found her, and he kills them quickly. He finds she is less than willing to help, and learns from her that some dragons had tried to prevent the change to human form, and had killed some of the mages. He tries to reassure her that his duty is to protect her, even after she completes the task of returning all to dragon form. She doesn't seem to believe him, but also realizes that he will not leave without her.
He gets her to return him to natural form immediately, and he starts the journey home, taking the reluctant mage with him. He takes her to the council and tells them about what some of the dragons had done before the transfer to human form had been completed. They ask him to attempt to find out who was responsible, adding to his assignment of protecting the girl. He must protect the girl and discover who had been responsible for killing mages.
