Wall-E
This cute movie by Pixar and Disney proves to be more than it appears. When I decided to watch it, I figured it would be no big deal, just something to have going in the background while I did other things. However, I was soon drawn in, watching closely to the adventures of the robots and how they were changing the world.
The movie isn't just about the robot developing a personality, it also serves as a reminder of what is out there to do, that we shouldn't rely on electronics for entertainment all the time, that we need to learn again to get our hands dirty and do things ourselves. Humans in the movie have become so overweight they can barely move, and everyone is seated or laying down at all times. They survive on junkfood shakes, and most don't even know there is a pool in the ship they live on. The chaos caused by the small robot shows people how to work together, and that there's more to life than just surviving. So go out there and plant a tree! Go for a walk! Lets not let our world and lives end up like in that movie. __________________
